Diet pills, supplements, Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig, figure competitions, macros... The list goes on and on of things that I had tried in the past. Things that I had tried just to see a certain number on the scale. But, what did I think would happen when I saw that number? I never felt satisfied...I just wanted to see it go lower. Have you ever felt this way??? As a coach, I feel lucky to not only have the opportunity to inspire and encourage others to live healthier lifestyles on a daily basis, but I also feel lucky to share my experiences and what I've learned in order to help others never to make the same mistakes I did.
My magic number was alway 140 lbs... the problem is, to get below 149 I need to DIET and when I mean DIET, I mean no treats (at all!) -- moderate carbs, minimal fruits, mainly veggies, proteins, and a little healthy fat. That's it. But dieting is NO FUN to me... dieting truly means restriction and in my experience, restriction leads to binge eating. Hiding in the closet on a Sunday night, shoveling food into my mouth like it's the last meal I'll ever get. Please, tell me I'm not alone!!! After years of struggling with yo-yo dieting and even working with a nutrition therapist, I was lucky to learn about MODERATION -- the 80/20 rule. This did not happen over night, rather it took years of practice, self-acceptance and forgiveness to learn how to treat myself free from guilt. I truly thank my first pregnancy for teaching me this concept, as I began to listen to my body in a way I never had before. After Brock was born, I thought I was following the 80/20 rule, but noticed that even though I was nursing, working with a trainer, and eating "clean," the pounds and inches WERE NOT coming off the way I wanted them to. It wasn't until I learned about the 21 Day Fix and PORTION CONTROL that things TRULY clicked for me. Since starting on my journey as a health and wellness coach, I've been extremely lucky to work with some incredible women in making WELLNESS a LIFESTYLE!!! We keep the word "diet" out of our groups because there is no restriction!!! We enjoy the occasional glass (or two) of wine and eat our chocolate, too -- all while feeling healthier, more energetic and more confident. We hold one another accountable to our daily workouts and healthy habits and continue moving forward together. Imagine having a team of women to count on during those tough days... the days you just want to dive into a box of cereal or sleep in, instead of pushing play on your workout. A supportive group of like-minded women, who are there to support you, rather than sabotage your best efforts. I'm lucky enough to have that TEAM and want to invite you to join us! This week, our team is hosting a 5 Day Sneak Peek into Team Flex Coaching! To join, click here OR head on over to the Work With Me page for more information on how to get started at any level!!! Let's stop restricting and start LIVING!!!
