ARE YOU TREATING YOUR BUSINESS LIKE A BUSINESS??

I started coaching with Team Beachbody back in November 2014 after participating in a free challenge that my coach ran.  I knew that I had a heart for helping others and felt passionate about health and fitness, but I didn't know much beyond that other than, when I finished my enrollment, I would be considered an independent business owner!

What??  A business owner?? Yep!
Although I had no idea what the letters MLM stood for, or what I was getting into, I couldn't wait to learn more.  I dove into as many trainings as I could and listened to everything my coach shared with me!  I loved it and saw great success, but then... something didn't feel right.  I hit a mental roadblock and felt stuck in a comparison game.  With every message I sent, I began to feel insecure.  I knew that my potential was so much greater than the work I was doing and that I needed to start treating my business like a business, rather than a hobby!

At this point, about one year into my business, I decided to not only invest in myself, but also my team, by working one on one with an amazing clarity coach, Cailen Ascher; who helped me to look more deeply into what I do, why I do it and how I can best serve others.

These new findings helped me to realize the importance of mindset and systems; which leads me to the ---

5 steps I took to turn my hobby into a business:
  1. I now write my monthly, quarterly and yearly goals, at least 3 times per week and create a monthly "game plan" for success.
  2. I began working more closely with the leaders on my team.
  3. I developed a step-by-step, new coach mentorship program, to take the guesswork out of the process for new coaches.
  4. I asked for help from those closest to me to spend some extra time with my little guy while I "worked."
  5. I re-created my blog; which would not have been possible without the talent of my good friend, Trisha Gregory!

My business has evolved to include a variety of platforms, in order to use my creativity and help others, while continuing to give me the freedom of time to spend with my family and friends.

Yes, it is still quite the juggle some (read: most) days, but I am lucky to have an amazing community of moms to help keep me moving forward!
